Day 40: Celebration Time

Well, the day is finally here and I woke to it with mixed emotions. I have had so much fun doing this for my wonderful bride I almost don't want it to end. She was excited as the day started and her friend Monica, who came in from Richmond was there for the weekend and her day had finally arrived. I fixed them some waffles and bacon for breakfast and they spent most of the morning just catching up on things that have been going on in their lives. As we spent the early afternoon getting ready for the party some of her other girlfriends (Beth, Jamie, Lauren) showed up around 3:00 as they were all going to get manicures and pedicures. I drove them to the nail salon with some bottles of champagne where they also met up with her other friends Aly and Kim. Seven ladies in all had a wonderful time catching up and getting pampered. I on the other hand went to Back Creek Grill to pick up the food for the party. Back Creek is the same place that we had our wedding reception and it is a wonderful place that we love to visit!!!

About 6:30 the limousine showed up to take them for a ride and bring them to the party. (This was a surprise for Sandra but she figured it out when no one had a car at the nail salon. She was also with me when I won a free limo ride about 3 months earlier). The ladies had a wonderful time on the ride to our place for the party. By the time that they arrived they had already stopped to refill the champagne supply and were quite happy when they got there. The party wasn't a huge one but very quaint. David Page and his wife Michelle were there along with Bob Patrick and his wife Dre. We had neighbors that also stopped by and various other people that visited throughout the night. The ladies had their own little dance floor out on the patio and everyone seemed to have a wonderful time.

I end this 40 Days journey with a number of thoughts. First I would love to thank all of the people that have helped me in making this a memorable experience for Sandra. From all of her friends who helped on various days to all of the people that we met in place along the way. It was a wonderful time and we love everyone that was involved. Secondly, to those of you that have kept up with this it is great for me to see the large amount of people that have read this on a daily basis. I can see how many people read this and where they are from and it has been incredible. People from all across the country have followed as well as in Africa, Argentina, Australia, the Middle East, Japan, China just to name a few. Every continent has been represented and it is just nice to know that maybe in an indirect way that my wife may have had an effect on even more people than she already does. Lastly, to my beautiful bride! I love you more than you can imagine and this has been just a small something that I feel indebted to you for everything that you have brought into my life. You are my rock, foundation, and soul mate in which I look forward to spending the next 40 years of your life with. The impact that you have on myself and countless others is so much more than you can imagine and I am so proud to see that everyday. You are an amazing person that I am so fortunate to be able to call my wife!! I LOVE YOU!! HAPPY 40TH BIRTHDAY!!
