Day 23: Parking Lot Camping

For those of you that have been following I want to apologize for falling behind as we have spent the last five days at a family reunion in the West Virginia mountains, therefore, no internet. That also posed a challenge in wondering how to tie in five days away into the 40 days. In thinking about that I decided to continue the path down memory lane and bring out past trips back to light.

September 23, 2007 was a day in which my bride and the kids took advantage of some free VIP tickets to the NASCAR race in Dover, Deleware. We left on that Saturday with the kids and packed up the tent in the back of the truck. When we arrived, the camping spots were all filled up so we pulled into a shopping center lot and pitched the tent on a grass patch next to a sidewalk. We continued to redneck it up by pulling out the burn barrel and put it in the parking spot next to us and had a campfire that night. We had a great night and some great pictures of my beautiful wife and children. We woke up the next morning to spend some time in the hospitality village eating and sat under a crystal clear sky watching the Sunday race. It was a late night getting back that evening but in looking back at the pictures it was once again, all worth it!!!
