Day 10: Ten Fingers & Ten Toes

Before reading about Day 10 please check out the contest that is now posted to the right!!!

The number 10. There were a number of thoughts that went through my mind as there have been a numerous associations with this number. I thought about a "perfect 10" but Bo Derek wasn't available, and really, who would that have been a gift for? Ten Little Indians would have been wonderful and while they could have helped with the garden, the dogs might have been really freaked out, and where would they stay? As a big Atlanta Braves fan #10 Chipper Jones, who has been eye candy to her for years, would have also been great, but he was too busy hitting a game winning single against my Mets last night, and seriously, why would I present eye candy to my wife? I decided to go with something almost every women loves.

I needed an hour out of her schedule but her day was completely packed with a kick off event for the Children's Miracle Network LemonAid promotion, March of Dimes Signature Chef Auction, and Virginia Amateur Sports kick off to the Coventry Commonwealth Games. Like we all know, philanthropy is very important to her and there was no way that I would be able to get her for an hour. I was still able to present her with the Day 10 gift for her to use at her convenience. Therefore when she does use it I will return to this post and show the pictures of the event.

Around 11:00 I hopped in my 1994 beat up Mazda and joined her at Ukrops for the LemonAid promotion and she was dressed in a cute little skirt and a lemonade color sweater. On a number 10 envelope I wrote: "DAY 10..........What do you have two sets of that needs more maintenance than the Mazda?". I presented her with this envelope when I saw her at the promotion. She wanted to open it right away but I informed her that she couldn't until she figured out the stupid little riddle that I came up with. After a few incorrect guesses she hit the "nail" right on the head. Inside the envelope she had a gift certificate for a 10 finger manicure and a 10 toe pedicure that she would be able to use at her convenience. I actually had to talk her out of going to get one earlier in the week. I believe that she might be able to enjoy it today as she does have a little time in her schedule around lunch time in which she can go visit her man Long at Southwest Nails and take some relaxing time for herself.
