Day 18: Impromptu Memory

As I mentioned in the post with the Watkins Glen collage we took a week long trip to New York in August of 2007. We left to go up there on Sunday, August 5th we had no plans other than going to visit family and take the kids to New York City later in the week for their first time. As we got into Pennsylvania we started talking about our trip to Pocono Raceway earlier in the summer in which we camped up there for the 1st race weekend of the two that they have.

As we got closer to Interstate 80 it was very early afternoon. I looked at her and said, "You know, we are only about an hour from the speedway and the race starts at 2:00." She looked at me like I was crazy but like we always do we decided to live for the moment and listen to how excited the kids were when we told them. We got there just a few laps after the race started and after a stressful time of getting to our seats, then changing seats, we were able to relax and watch a great race and gave the kids their first experience at Pocono Raceway.
